Market Me Could Pocket Millions More as Permanent Secretary Fails to Seriously Probe Alleged Affair Between Its Director and Health Minister Tufton
PART 1: WATCHING THE WATCHDOGS
Permanent Secretary Dunstan Bryan has indicated that Market Me is still receiving millions of dollars in outstanding payments and can still get new work from the Ministry of Health.
From 2017, the company has been awarded roughly $88 million (US$655,248) in contracts from the ministry and related entities without competing bids, which stoked controversy after it was alleged that one of its principals, Lyndsey McDonnough, was having a romantic relationship with Minister of Health Dr. Christopher Tufton.
Asked directly whether Market Me can still qualify for work, Mr. Bryan, the accounting officer for the health ministry, told 18º North, “Of course!”
