The deadly mob attack on the U.S. Capitol should remind the world over, and especially the Caribbean, of just how fragile our democracies can be. Since the 1970s, the Caribbean region has seen its fair share of attempted and successful coups in Haiti, Trinidad & Tobago, Venezuela, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama, Grenada, Dominica and Suriname, some with the help of the United States.
